Iota Psi Sigma Mission Statement

Our mission is to enhance the community by inspiring new horizons, promoting growth and development of the community. Sisterhood, community advocacy, and professional, social, and educational development are the hallmarks of our chapter.  We will provide leadership, resources, and innovative and original thought to achieve    our goals.  Our ultimate goal is to present Sigma as a diverse and dynamic group of women dedicated to the their families, their communities, and their civic and social responsibilities.

Foundation

Iota Psi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was chartered on August 27, 2005 by Sorors LaShanna Brown, Kasie Erdman, Taunya Meeks-Griffin, Maya Smith, Nakiiya Williams & Dr. Aronica Williams. This eclectic pool of women with an array  of talents set community service goals  to better serve Wisconsin and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated.

In only a short time, Iota Psi Sigma has developed civic, social, educational and economic programs for the community with an emphasis on the positive development of the youth. Service to youth is one the hallmark of the chapter's activities which include its current involvement with its own leadership and mentorship program for young women, Buds of Spring.

Iota Psi Sigma continues to strive to be a beacon light for the community of Brown Deer and aims to fulfill the motto of Sigma “Greater Service, Greater Progress.”
